Anyone using the "Batch Ship" function in ePosim?

Postby rufustrunt » Thu Aug 13, 2009 8:03 am

Hi Guys, just thought I would see if anyone is using the batch ship function in ePosim. We have probably put in 40 hours worth of time trying to figure out how to use this and have gotten absolutely nowhere so I thought I would see if anyone has actually figured out how this works OR if it actually does work.

It would be nice to e-mail customers with their tracking numbers..........

Thanks!

Hi,

Not using "batch-ship" . Additionally we have a different shopping cart software. But for shipping by US postal we use a 3rd party provider called ENDICIA.
http://www.endicia.com . Their system is a delight to use. As soon as a 4 x 6 label is printed it automatically sends an email to the customer (with tracking information).
ENDICIA has these "Application Interfaces" that work with many different shopping carts. Basically the interface takes all the customer info: name, street, apt, business name, city, state, and Zip and Verifies the correctness of the address. It also grabs the customer's telephone (optional), email address, order ID and also pastes these into the label interface. So it is a four step process: 1.) One Click Transfers all necessary information from our shopping cart to Endicia 2.) Scale attached by UBS cord transfers weight of a package 3.) Second Click prints a 4 x 6 self-adhesive USPS approved label 4.) Fourth click is the "SEND" button for email notification to customer.
We use a ZEBRA LP2844 printer and a Endicia (ES7500U) Postal USB Scale. (it is also very easier to look up previously shipped packages up to 365 days by many criteria.)

Our shopping cart programmer added the ENDICIA mini-app to our shopping cart in about 2 hours, including some minor tweaking.

Well we finally got this working. It took a real, real, long time to figure out how to do it, but it does indeed work.

Basically at the end of the day our shipping data is exported and then we clean it up a bit, then reimport it to e-posim and it post each customers order as being shipped.
